Esperanza Community Farms
Esperanza Community Farms is a system-changing, sustainable community agriculture project focused on increasing food security and good health among families living in the Pajaro and Salinas Valleys, especially those from under-resourced communities. We cultivate fresh, pesticide-free, culturally preferred vegetables and fruit varieties, then deliver bi-weekly boxes of produce directly to members’ homes via a subsidized Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. We work within the regional arts ecosystem and partner with organizations that wish to work jointly to localize the food supply chain. The CSA, along with the Farm-2-Cafeteria (F2C) project and our strategic partnerships with small local farmers of color via the 7 Plus Organics Co-op, work interdependently to realize our mission.
If you’d like to reserve your spot for the 2026 EsperanzaCSA or receive updates, please share your information in the form.
Thank you for supporting local and sustainable agriculture!
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement
We are proud to have adopted the following DEI statement which guides our work at Esperanza Community Farms. And, we consider that a DEI statement is simply that, a statement. For that reason, our board and staff consider this a living declaration that will be updated as our team learns, grows and understands more fully how to make it more actionable in the short and long term.
Esperanza Community Farms is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive and courageous environment that promotes thoughtful relationships with our diverse staff, volunteers, community partners, and patrons. Our goal is to design and implement strategies that address the varied barriers to fresh and local organic produce and economic justice in the CA Central Coast. To this end, we offer programs and experiences that ensure that the community at large, regardless of gender, race, age, immigration status, and socioeconomic status, has increased health equity and economic justice.
No More Events This Year - That’s a Wrap for 2025!
Our Programs
-

Esperanza CSA
A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program lets families subscribe to receive fresh, seasonal produce directly from the farm. It connects farmers and the community while supporting sustainable food.
-

Farm To Cafeteria
Esperanza brings salads made with organic produce into local schools to nourish students and teachers. Our mission is to connect farms and cafeterias, building healthy communities and future leaders. Better descriptions result in more sales.
Our program is on pause due to funding delays. We hope to continue in 2026 and bring fresh, local produce back to schools!
-

Esperanza Food Hub
A food hub links local farmers with families, schools, and organizations. As a food hub, Esperanza makes fresh produce accessible while supporting small growers and the local food system
Three different CSAs for you!
Our Esperanza CSA operates in specific locations and is supported by a strong base of members who have participated for over three years, grounded in reciprocity and community support.
We also offer a PASEA CSA, where multiple farmers from the region come together to sell weekly baskets through an online and phone ordering system, with optional home delivery or pick-up locations.
The third model is the OPEN CSA, available for a few months and distributed at a public site in the area. It is open to both members and non-members at no cost, always encouraging community commitment and collective awareness.
At EsperanzaCommunityFarms, we offer three CSA options designed for different needs and levels of participation.
We invite you to explore the features of each model and choose the CSA that best fits your needs and the way you want to support local food sovereignty.
